Rock Star Back-End Engineer

Niobium Labs, Ltd. is looking for a data-geek back end developer. Candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills and willingness to work in a startup type environment. This position will work on developing our mobile campaign management system, as well as the business rules repository for these campaigns. Applicant must be able to multi-task as we have multiple tasks under development; must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Job Description:

- The candidate will be head of our product design department

- Leading the design and development of cutting-edge, scalable to infinity UDP applications
- Integrating with mobile applications for Android/iOS/Blackberry
- Solving challenging data mining problems
- Close interacting with campaign management and sales team

Technical Requirements:

- Applicants must have at least 1-year experience with appengine

- 3-5 years experience in software development using python or ruby
- Ideal candidates should have prior experience with statistical/data mining packages like R and weka, as well as functional programming background
- Strong software architecture design skills desired, in particular good knowledge of NoSQL, polyglottism and agile development concepts
- Must be able to work with an existing body of code (maintenance, feature additions, debugging, etc)
- Experience with message queues, map/reduce and data mining is considered a plus

This is a fulltime position, remote commuting is also acceptable.
