Yiannis Doxaras, MSc.
Yiannis Doxaras has studied theoretical physics in University of Athens, National Technical University of Athens and University of Cambridge. His research areas span Quantum Complexity theory, Quantum Computer implementations - especially bosonic systems - and simulation of strongly non-linear systems with probabilistic and analytical methods. He is co-founder of Niobium Labs and currently serves as chief technology manager. Yiannis has worked for all major telco providers in Greece and Vodafone in London and has either managed or participated in Greek Government projects of total cost that exceeds 4M euro.
Specializes in location aware mobile applications (iphone, android, blackberry ) and vertical geo-marketing solutions. Yiannis is an active commiter in various open source projects mainly with java, python, php and ruby technologies. He is a serial entrepreneur and innovation broker in Greece and Balkans. He is also co-founder of OSIS, a Greek open source startup company that provides turn key solutions in industries like travel, e-learning and e-government.

Dr. George P. Kremmydas
Dr. George P. Kremmydas, General Manager of Niobium Labs , received his B.Sc. Honours Degree in Physiology in 1994 (Dep. of Physiology, Univ. of Leeds, UK) and his PhD in Computational Cardiology in 2000 (Dep. of Biomedical Sciences, Univ. of Leeds, UK). He has worked as an external researcher and lecturer for the Universities of Ioannina and Patras. He is in charge of the Research Technology and Development Department of the Local Union of Municipalities and Communities of Kefalonia and Ithaki (LUMC-KI).
Remaining a strong advocate of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing scientific, technological, social and political challenges he has worked in research, the public as well as the private sector. His research interests lie in the field of computational and mathematical physiology as well as in the history and the social function of science. In the public sector his work focused in the exploitation of science and technology for regional development. In 1998 he established and organized the RTD Department of LUMC-KI, which in collaboration with the local authorities of the region was responsible for the design and implementation of key eGovernment, eLearning, broad-band and IT-infrastructure projects. In the private sector he has worked as a consultant as well as a project manager in IT projects.
He is the co-founder of Symvan Ltd, a consulting company focusing in regional development projects for both the public and the private sector. He is also the co-founder of OSIS a Greek open source startup company that provides integrated solutions in industries like travel, e-learning and e-government.
Dimitris Togias
Mr. Dimitris Togias co-founder of Niobium Labs Ltd., is a senior researcher and project manager with development experience in distributed control systems, vision, robotics, mechatronics and software development of large scale commercial applications. He studied Mechanical Engineering in National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and then continued his studies in NTUA as an Electrical and Computer engineer.
He has been employed as a software engineer for ANCO S.A. where he has participated in a number of commercial projects such as the design, implementation and installation of a large scale automation and maintenance SCADA system for CYTA (Cyprus Telecommunications Company), and the development of an AVL Fleet Management system using TETRA, GSM/GPRS and RF communications. Since 2004 he has co-owned ZeroOne Mechatronics, a company providing advanced, custom technological solutions for complex systems on request. He has also been working as a project manager for EUROPEAN DYNAMICS S.A. in a numerous EU research programs including EVOTEST (automatic software testing framework), AGENT-DYSL (a software for dyslexic children) and TERAEYE (a low cost and fully passive THz inspection system). He is also a member of the ACM and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Manolis Perakakis, PhD
Dr. Manolis Perakakis holds a Bachelor, MEng (distributed speech recognition) and PhD (multi-modal mobile interfaces) degrees all from Electronics & Computer Engineering Department, Technical University Crete. Manolis splits his time between hacking and research when not swimming/hiking/cycling/drinking the raki! He is a Linux advocate since 1995 (author of one of the first Greek open source projects) and a strong follower of the open source movement and open technologies.He has participated in a large number of research projects such as Logotypografia (first Greek dictation project), Spoken Language Translator (Standford Research Institute), MUSCLE NOE (multimedia understanding through semantics) and HIWIRE EU funded project among others. He is member of IEEE/ACM and Technical Chamber of Greece and author of several Journal/conference and book chapters.
Manolis brings expertise in adverse number of emerging engineering disciplines such as natural language processing & understanding, speech technologies, multimedia processing, human computer interaction, multi-modal mobile interfaces, cognitive ergonomics/psychology. He is recipient of First Award of Excellence in Telecommunications for his work on distributed speech recognition (2001), and Trolltech's wordwide QT embedded programming contest for the development of a jabber client for Zaurus Linux PDA (2002).
He is a huge fun of the Matrix and he always takes the red pill :)
Antonis Lilis, BSc
Mr Antonis Lilis received his B.Sc. degree in Informatics (2005) from the Department of Informatics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). In the same year he joined the Communication Networks Laboratory (CNL) of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens (UoA). He worked there as a researcher in the context of End-to-End Reconfigurability (E²R) EU-funded project. His research interests include: mobile networks and computing and autonomic communication systems.
Antonis has been working as a software developer and engineer since 2005. Between 2008 and mid-2010 he has been employed as a software engineer for Satways Ltd where he has participated in a number of public safety projects such as the C4I Athens, an Incident Management Systems and a Forest Fire Crisis Management System. He has experience in a wide range of domains including Mobile software development, Fleet Management systems, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and ERP/CRM software.
He joined Niobium Labs in mid-2010.

Evangelos Tripolitakis, PhD cand.
Mr. Evangelos Tripolitakis holds BSc and MSc degrees from the Electronics & Computer Engineering Department, Technical University of Crete. Since 2004 he is a PhD candidate at the same department.
His research interests cover Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Fault monitoring and detection, Soft Sensors and Distributed Sensor Networks.
Evangelos has actively worked on the fields of embedded electronics, telemetry, telematics and fieldbus network applications for energy saving on buildings. Furthermore, he has participated in many national and international research programs on the sector of energy saving in buildings.
Since 2006 he owns the nohSYS IT & Engineering company, located in Crete, which specializes on custom web development with more than 70 projects delivered and integrated solutions on vehicle fleet management.
Evangelos likes Rock Music and good beer :-) On top of all, he tries to be a good father and husband :-)
Alexandros Zaharis, MSc
Alexandros Zaharis holds a Bachelor (2007) in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications and a Msc .(2010), with honors, in Computer Science (Thesis: Computer Forensics, Benford’s Law In Steganalysis), degrees from the Computer Engineering, Telecommunication and Networks Department, University of Thessaly (UTH), Greece. He has also attended the Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) in 2006.
He joined the Centre for Research and Technology - Thessaly (CE.RE.TE.TH) in 2007 as a researcher on RFID technology and has worked on two EU-funded Projects (Rfid in warehouse Management “ThessalyTex”, Virtual museum tour using RFID technology “i-Muse”). He is the co-author of 3 conference papers on RFID technology.
His research interests include: Computer Security and Computer Forensics, sensors, has published 4 conference papers on Data Hiding (IEEE Publications), Steganalysis and User Authentication techniques (ICST and Springer Publications). He is owner of one patent and has been nominated twice on Innovative Business Planning from KETA and University of Thessaly.
Alexandros has been working as a software developer and engineer since 2007 on various projects including Warehouse Management, Fleet Management systems and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). He joined Niobium Labs in mid-2010.
Stelios Landrakis
Stelios Landrakis as the Insights Director,aims to help companies reach and beter engage their audiences online. His task is to research current digital insights and emerging trends in the field of the Digital ecosystem and to implement those new marketing practises into Niobium Labs key Accounts.
In addition to his position at Niobium Labs, he is currently at the newly build New Democracy secretary of new technology and he serves from the position of Strategic Advisor.
